21st ANNUAL ART AUCTION

Cape Cod Museum of Art’s highly anticipated 2008 ARTS AUCTION of work by many of the Cape’s finest artists will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008 from 5:30 – 9 pm at the museum.
Nearly 100 works of art will be offered in the Silent Auction including Art in Another Form, a variety of three-dimensional objects, and the Live Auction. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served during the Silent Auction. A sumptuous buffet dinner and a Live Auction with auctioneer Robert C. Eldred follows the Silent Auction.
This year’s special works include: Looking Out, a beautiful watercolor by Elizabeth Pratt who is currently on exhibition at CCMA, with an opening bid of $400, and artist Robert Vickrey’s portrait of John Irving, author of The Hotel New Hampshire, which had been commissioned by Time Magazine, valued at $10,000. An exquisite one-of-a-kind necklace of Chinese Lavender Pearls by jewelry artist Ross Coppelman and a delicate Chickadee, by master bird-carver Eric Kaiser are among the pieces offered in Art In Another Form.
