Wet Felting Magic 2-Day Workshop with Sue Fox Mitrano

Thursday, April 20, and Friday, April 21, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

Discover the Magic of Wet Felting! 2-day Workshop

Working with colorful wool roving, yarn, and pieces of silk fabric, students will create two fiber “paintings.” Through the wet felting process, we will turn this light and fluffy wool into beautiful and permanent pieces artworks. Learn how this process originated and the many ways people around the world work with and use felt! 

On the second day, with the basic techniques mastered, students will focus more on image creation. Composition, ways to combine materials, and sources of inspiration will be discussed to help spark your creativity. We’ll even touch on creating three-dimensionally with wet felt!

Quality Merino wool and all materials are included in the supply fee. Participants are welcome to bring additional bits of 100% natural yarn/fiber to include in their artwork. 

An artist working in many mediums, Sue Fox Mitrano of Blue Fox Studio, currently creates Shibori textiles and nature-inspired linocut prints. Her hand-dyed silk, cotton, and wool scarves are made with traditional Shibori techniques as well as original designs.

Sue is also a certified K-12 Art Teacher with a BFA in Graphic Design from Syracuse University and a BA in Art Education, teaching in public and private schools. She has been teaching children and adults at art centers for over 10 years.
