Jenifer Jackson is an American songwriter, singer, and guitarist known for crafting intimate, understated pop songs. She embraces elements of old-fashioned country, bossa nova, and folk in her writing and singing, and always with great soulfulness. "Her strong melodies, subtle arrangements, and pure vocal approach render her recordings almost instantly classic."Time Out! Her songs have appeared on television ('Bloodline') and film soundtracks ('Run, Fat Boy Run' and Independent Spirit Winner 'Daydream Believer') and have been covered by a wide variety of artists in the USA and Europe.

Jackson currently makes her home in Austin, Texas but has lived in Boston, Manhattan, and Italy, where she became fluent in Italian. She teaches Italian. Her 13 solo albums have taken her on tours around the world, landed her on broadcasts such as NPR All Songs Considered, World Café, and Mountain Stage, and most recently on Songwriters Across Texas Television and Video Podcasts. She collaborates with Patrick Sansone of Wilco, Brad Jones (Hays Carl, Ron Sexsmith) and a host of notable friends.

Her album BIRDS, produced in Nashville by dear friend Brad Jones, was named "the soft pop record of the year" by Tangents magazine. Her album PATHS came out in November 2019. The collection of 9 original compositions, produced and engineered by Brad Jones and assisted by Jonas Lindstrom at Alex the Great Recording in Nashville TN, features Brad Jones, Pat Sansone, Jim Hoke, Joshua Hunt and Chris Carmichael. "Jackson is a songwriter first, a sweetener second," wrote The Onion's AV Club. "Sketches of urban romance that alternate joyous delirium with desperate loneliness, all laced with persistent feelings of need."

"I've lived in so many cities and spent time in a lot of the great urban centers of the world," says Jackson. "But as a songwriter, I'm most inspired and at peace in nature, whether it's near the ocean or in the desert, or close to animals.” She adds: "I long for lastingness, in love, in melody, in memories. But I know everything is temporale. I write and create for lots of reasons, and one is to capture the feeling of a moment and make it last within the world of a song.”

During 2020, Jenifer collaborated with Kullen Fox and Pat Sansone, recording a new album of 9 new songs and 2 covers. Her new album, "LEAN TO ME”, produced by Kullen and mixed by Pat, was released in the Fall of 2021.

All concerts are held outside, under the tent in our sculpture garden. In case of rain, the concert will be held inside the museum in our spacious gallery. No need to bring chairs, we have plenty for everyone! Feel free to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy on our lawn before the concert!
