France, 1760, Marianne is commissioned to paint the wedding portrait of Héloïse, a young woman who has just left the convent.  Because she is a reluctant bride-to-be, Marianne arrives under the guise of companionship, observing Héloïse by day and secretly painting her by firelight at night.

Following the film, celebrated figurative artists Maryalice Eizenberg, Rosalie Nadeau, Andrea Petitto and Paul Schulenburg will provide their response and professional perspective on the accuracy and believability of the artist’s portrayal in the film.  Original works from the panelist’s portfolios will also be shared on the big screen.
