The beautifully bound, Smyth Sewn lay flat hard cover book includes 102 large, full color reproductions of Diehl's paintings interspersed in the 6 chronological chapters that follow his art career from England to Italy, Morocco and Holland to the United States- including New York and Boston, and later to Provincetown. He became a  historically significant figure in the Provincetown art scene in the 1920s, painting and selling accurate depictions of the fishing industry, boats at sea, and wharfs.
